Topic: Back to the Future: WordPress in 2018

How to access Building: Please note RCL has moved to 315 Brunswick St Mall, head in past the ANZ Branch, do not use the elevator opposite ANZ, head further through the corridors and you’ll find brick-textured elevators to the left, take it to the 3rd floor and we’re right there outside the elevator. (If 3rd is inaccessible, take it to 2nd floor and navigate up through RCL to the right)
To start off 2018 we’ll be hosting the meetup in a new location (River City Labs in the Valley) while Luke presents Back to the Future: WordPress in 2018.
Luke will take a look at how WordPress has grown over the last 10 years, taking a step back in time to January 2008, and WordPress 2.3 (“Dexter”). From here, we’ll learn about the foundational principles of WordPress, and forecast deep into the future. We’ll discover what WordPress could look like 10 years from now, imagine how the technology that lies ahead may impact our weblogs, and consider mistakes that could never afflict our favourite “state-of-the-art semantic personal publishing platform”.

Getting here: River City Labs is located in the middle of Fortitude valley, walking distance from Buses and the FV train station.
