Hooked to WooCommerce
This month we have an introduction to hooks in WordPress. What are they, the benefits of using them and how to go about using them. We’ll also look at using Hooks in WooCommerce.

Hector Lorenzo is a User Experience Developer with 7 years of experience, fluent in HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP. Born in Barcelona, he’s forged his career in Rotterdam and Hong Kong. Hector has worked for small companies and big companies, as a freelance, with small teams, alone, with clients overseas and clients sitting next to my desk. He’s now moved to Melbourne to become part of its vibrant development community.

CSS Selectors Redux
If you haven’t checked in on CSS’s newer and more advanced selectors for a couple of years, come see what you’ve been missing! Where once CSS selectors formed the “tradie’s tool belt” of every front-end developer, these days reliance on preprocessors like Sass and sophisticated template frameworks leads most developers to grab the same hammer to solve every problem: class selectors.

Kevin Yank will take you on a whistle-stop tour of the CSS selector landscape, from surprising new tricks in trusty standbys like attribute selectors, to enticing (and occasionally heartbreaking) glimpses of the future like :matches and :has.
