The WordPress Melbourne meet up returns for another month. Our WordPress meetup covers everything from choosing Themes & Plugins and setting up your site, through to theme and plugin development and everything related to Core.
We currently run one meetup per month. We try to alternate between end-user/beginner talks one month and development/technical talks the following month. As it all depends on availability of presenters though, please make sure you keep an eye out on the topics for the particular month once we update the meetup page with all the details.
We’re always looking for new speakers, so contact the organisers in the meetup.com sidebar if you have an idea for a talk. We usually start the night with a light meal before the talks.

UX Design – Learn the basics around typography
Tina Okey is Founding Director and Pixel Perfectionist at WP Launch Me. She worked in corporate as a graphic and web designer for more than 10 years. Tina now runs a digital marketing agency with Jay Okey offering custom web design & development, digital marketing and copywriting.
Tina will be talking about UX design, with a focus on general typography best practices for web and why typography’s role belongs in a grey area between a designer and a front-end developer.
If you think typography is just about fonts then this presentation is for you. If you want to learn how to implement these best practices in WordPress, or if you’re wondering why this is important, why you should care and how this information will take your next website project to another level, then come prepared with your notepads.
